Customer Service Representative

First Alternative Natural Foods Co-op wants someone with exceptional customer service skills to join our Front End team!

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership abilities and have the ability to work with a variety of customers. Additional requirements for this position include familiarity and comfort with computers, previous cashiering and POS systems experience, and superior problem solving abilities. The ability to multitask and give great attention to detail are also must-haves. Finally, knowledge of natural foods is desired.

This position is approximately 35 hours/week. Pay begins at $10.18/hour. Scheduled hours for this position are yet to be determined but may include some weekend, evening, and daytime hours. Shifts for this position may be at both the South and North store locations.

Grocery Assistant Manager

The Grocery Team seeks an individual with prior retail grocery experience. Knowledge about the natural foods industry is a big plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills are required for this position. The top candidate will also have a positive attitude and the ability to delegate confidently and honestly.

The Grocery Assistant Manager is responsible for coordinating the regular functions of the Grocery department for the assigned store location. This includes coordinating ordering and inventory, supervising assigned department staff, and overseeing scheduling.

The Grocery Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager and Retail Operations Manager to ensure success of the Grocery department.

This is a 40 hours/week salaried, full-time position. Compensation starts at $2,224/month (equivalent to $13.90/hour). Hours for this position are yet to be determined but may include some morning, evening, and weekend hours.

Cashiers

First Alternative is seeking two teammates who can deliver excellent customer service and work well in our fast-paced retail environment. Please note: One of these positions will not start until mid or late August. Qualified candidates must possess previous POS/cashiering and customer service experience. The ability to provide attention to detail, some scheduling flexibility, and familiarity with the organic and natural foods industry are also desired.

Cashiers are the “face” of the Co-op in their daily interactions with customers and are responsible for creating a positive experience for shoppers while at First Alternative. Therefore, upbeat attitudes and excellent communication skills are musts.

Pay begins at $9.50/hour, for 20+ hours/week. Scheduled hours for this position are yet to be determined but may include some morning, evening, and weekend hours. Shifts for this position may be at both the South and North store locations.
