What brought you to the Co-op?
I shop here frequently and have always liked the welcoming and conscious atmosphere of the Co-op. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I saw that they were hiring for a prep cook.
What do you like best about your job?
I have a great group of people to work with. They make me smile and laugh.
How has working at the Co-op affected your life?
I have started eating much healthier and much more organic/local because of the staff discount and that wonderful gleaners produce box which often provides me with lunch.
What are some of your favorite products at the Co-op?
I love the bumble bars, haha I just can’t get enough of them. Also, I love the lemon-thyme yams, and those cheesy cornbread muffins.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to ride my bike and go on long bike rides in the countryside/farmland around here. I also drive a pedicab for Corvallis Pedicab and Ashland Ecocab occasionally on the side. Yes, outside of work I try to be outside as much as possible.
Where did you grow up/where have you lived in your life?
I am a local Corvallite. Born and raised. I have also spent some time in tiny Suquamish, WA and in a couple towns outside of Madrid, Spain.
Tell us something about yourself others might not know
I play the didgeridoo, or rather I make feel good sounds on the didg and am looking to get a new one. Anyone got one to spare??
If you had three wishes….
Happy happy happy!
Where are some of your favorite travel destinations?
My all-time favorite is New Zealand. I was blown away by all the natural beauty there.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Who knows, but I expect to be happy and living my life to the absolute fullest. Yes.
What music is playing in your car, home, or head?
Usually random nonsense tunes buzz through my head but sometimes a song will come through, usually to fit with whatever I am doing at the time. I’ve been discovering dubstep recently, I never realized why it was so popular before but it has been growing on me.
What are your top 5 favorite things about Corvallis?
The train trestle. The riverfront, especially the South end. That huge tree on the MU Quad. Mr. Bugle Man. Basketball-juggling Unicycle Guy.
