  • 5 cups apples, peeled & sliced

  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • pinch sea salt

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour

  • 1 single pie crust

  • 5 Tbsp. butter, divided

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/4 cup oats

  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • pinch sea salt

Instructions

1. Peel and slice apples into ¼” thick slices
2. Squeeze lemon juice over apple slices and mix.
3. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, sugar, salt, and flour.
4. Add to apples and stir to coat. Transfer apples to unbaked 9″ pie shell.
5. In a medium bowl, mix together 2 Tbsp. butter (softened) plus remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over pie.
6. Melt remaining 3 Tbsp. butter and drizzle over top of crumb topping.
7. Place pie on a baking sheet, to catch the juices as it bakes. Bake at 425F for 30 minutes.
8. Reduce temperature to 300F and bake 30 more minutes or until bubbly.
9. Cover with foil if topping starts to brown too much before baking time is done.
