These delicious mashed yams, sweetened by a splash of Kahlua, make a great side for your holiday feast.
4 lbs. garnet yams
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup Kahlua
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup butter, softened
1. Boil yams until fork-tender.
2. Drain, peel, and place in mixing bowl.
3. Mash yams, add milk, butter, salt, and brown sugar, and beat until smooth.
4. Put into a saucepan, add 1/4 cup Kahlua and simmer 1-1.5 hours, stirring frequently.
