French Dip Sandwiches
A tasty way to use up leftover beef. Use dinner rolls, or alternatively baguette works great as well, both available from our local Big River Breads. This recipe includes cheese, but you can easily leave that out for a dairy free version. The simple au jus adds delicious flavor and makes the meal a fun dipping experience for the whole family. The recipe calls for bouillon, but you can also use beef broth if you have it available.
- Thinly sliced beef roast
- 2 crusty rolls
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 tsp Better Than Bouillon
- 1 Tbsp tamari
- 1 small bay leaf
- Dash crushed black pepper
- 1/8 tsp dried rosemary, crushed
- 1/8 tsp dried thyme leave
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
Mix water, bouillon, tamari and herbs in a saucepan. Simmer gently for 10-15 minutes. Heat sliced meat gently; place on sandwich rolls and serve with cups of Jus for dipping.
