Kahlua Mashed Yams

These delicious mashed yams, sweetened by a splash of Kahlua, make a great side for your holiday feast.

  • 4 lbs. garnet yams

  • 1/2 cup dairy or plant-based milk

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1/4 cup Kahlua

  • ½ cup maple syrup

  • ½ cup dairy or plant-based butter

Instructions

Boil yams until fork-tender. Drain, peel, and place in mixing bowl. Mash yams, add milk, softened butter, salt, and brown sugar, and beat until smooth. Put into a saucepan, add 1/4 cup Kahlua and simmer 1-1.5 hours, stirring frequently.
