Credit my purchases towards a school:

First Alternative donates money to local schools every year. Co-op Owners may tie their owner number to a particular local school so their purchases are registered in support of that school. The greater the amount tallied for each school, the more donation funds it receives.

Electronic voting:

The Co-op uses electronic voting (e-voting) in all of its elections, but Owners may choose to opt-out of e-voting and instead receive their ballot via physical mail.

Payment Options

You can purchase your owner share online in one of two ways:

Pay in full ($70): A payment of $70 buys your share.
You are also welcome to invest up to an additional $230 in your share, which provides the Co-op with further capital and is also refundable in accordance with our bylaws and withdrawal policy.
(Optional) Additional investment: $

Pay monthly ($20 down): $20 down activates your share. After that, make 5 payments of $10 per month.

Our cashiers will let you know at the registers when you are due for your next monthly payment and you will make those payments in the store.

Please call the Co-op if you would like to find an alternative payment plan that fits your needs.

Terms

I hereby apply for Ownership in First Alternative Co-op and agree to purchase a $70 Owner Share. I understand that I may choose to put a maximum of $300 in equity on my Owner Share. As an Owner I will abide by the By-laws of First Alternative Co-op. I understand that my Owner share belongs solely to me, shown as the Owner listed above and as signed below, and that Owner benefits do not transfer to others who are listed as household members with the exception of the ability to purchase groceries using my Owner Share number.

You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase an Owner share online. Minors may purchase Owner shares in person at a First Alternative Co-op location with the consent and photo ID of their parent/guardian.
